FOUNDATIONAL PRIMARY SCHOOL
INTRODUCTION
KONELI is a recently established private school in Budapest. It started in 2019/2020 academic year with four classes and it has been still expanding each year.
At present we have 43 students (grades 1-6) and 12 teachers and educators are being emloyed; but from next year on the number of the students will double or triple and the number of teachers will increase as well.
The school applies project teaching, thus subjects are taught combined based on related themes. The used methodology and the teaching process are innovative. Its main aim is to provide a complex view over subjects, topics and life.
Laszlo Eich, the school principal is the one who coordinates the various processes and keeps contact with the school owner as well as monitors the tasks and results.
The school is commited to use project work in the lessons. It is beneficial to our children to learn and experience how to use our special work form in an international context with others. It is important for us to give them a usable, high level knowledge of English, because experiencing real life situations in English is essential for their future lives.
In the lessons our teachers use a lot of nonformal teaching methods. Plus as it is a project base school, it is more flexible, subjects are closely related and teachers cooperate more.
PEDADOGICAL PRINCIPLES
KONELI Foundational Primary School integrates the effective elements of personal develepoment of the present school models as well as the latest results of educational psychology and personality theories.
Its ultimate purpose is to educate students in a complex way including the harmonious improvement of their cognitive, social, kinetic, and communicational skills.
In compliance with the National Curriculum the following subjects are compulsory in our school: Hungarian Literature and Grammar, Mathematics, English as a Foreign Language, Science, History, ICT, Ethics, Visual Culture, Music, Art and Design, PE.
The use of project method is of great importance in the educating process, which helps to implement acquisition of knowledge via experience-based teaching.
The uniqueness of the school is that it applies 90-minute teaching blocks ensuring the acquisition in an inspiring classroom environment which is equipped with modern tecnology.
In order to provide full support to the teaching environment at KONELI Foundational Primary School all the classrooms are equipped with an LCD interactive board with internet access and digital teaching materials.
The school has agreements to try and implement different kinds of interactive teaching equipment - such as Cubetto robot, TelloEDU drone – in the educational process.
Besides ICT and Digital Culture the school has new extra curricular programs in the 2020/2021 academic year such as programming and the basis of drone technology.
OUR SPECIALITIES
The unique pedagogical method of the KONELI Foundational Primary School is developed by Prof. Dr. István Bábosik, who is a well-known hungarian expert at educational sciences. The method, which is called "Pedagogy of Constructive Lifestyle" is being widely acknowledged in the country.
This school model puts emphasis on cooperation, individual student activity, talent management and personal development within the community.
Beside subjects based on the National Core Curriculum, the everyday life of school is being enriched by integrated programs for example Chess Palace Program, Yoga, Tennis, Swimming, and optional afternoon faculties such as Guitar lesson, Modern Dance class, Judo etc.
In spite of the short time existence of the school it has been acquiring significant professional success:
- It won the title of "Happy School"
- It performs tasks of the international Erasmus+ Programme
- Several professional books and media appearances are connected to its activity
